The JBS3 project was managed by the British Cardiovascular Society and supported by the British Heart Foundation.

The aim of the JBS3 was to review recent research, evidence and guidelines on prevention of CVD, to distil the information into key recommendations available in one report, for use by GPs and practitioners. The following Societies make up the JBS: Association of British Clinical Diabetologists British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention Rehabilitation British Association for Nursing in Cardiovascular Care British Cardiovascular Society British Heart Foundation British Hypertension Society British Renal Society Diabetes UK HEART UK The Renal Association Stroke Association. The JBS was a reiterative process; previous JBS reports were produced in 1998 and 2005 (JBS2).
